Ms. Judith Kaufmann has been a nurse practitioner with FNA for 12 years. She is an Associate Professor and Director of the Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) degree program at Robert Morris University. She also holds an appointment as an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh in the Department of Health Promotion and Development. She is a nationally certified family nurse practitioner who has practiced in both acute and primary care settings since 1988, taught in the nurse practitioner program at the University of Pittsburgh from 1995 to April 2007, and was the Director of the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing’s Matilda Theiss Health Center from 1995-1999. She earned her Doctorate in Public Health from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health in 2004 and is actively involved in nationally funded research that focuses on chronic health conditions in children. She has previous nurse practitioner experience in pediatrics, orthopedics and gynecology. She has done multiple presentations on primary care topics at the national level, contributed to multiple journal publications, and has been recognized as a leader in the area of nurse practitioner practice, policy, and education. She received the Dean’s Distinguished Faculty Award from the University of Pittsburgh in 2001.
